Informer 2026.1 introduces Informer GO, the companion experience to Informer, bringing dashboards, KPIs, alerts, Apps and AI-powered insights into a single personalized workspace.

We walk through the difference between Magic Reports (built on your Datasets and Ad hoc Queries, available to every tenant) and full Apps (with their own server routes, databases, and messaging), and show how to build both directly from Informer or Informer GO. Q&A

1. Will the model decide by itself if it’s a basic or advanced question?
   1. No. The model is set by the feature you’re using and by how your account is configured, so it doesn’t change from one question to the next. In Informer GO Chat, you can choose the model if your permissions and account settings allow it. Each Assistant uses the model its author chose when setting it up. The Informer App Builder defaults to the Strategic model.
2. Are we able to use locally hosted models?
   1. Yes. Informer supports three ways to run AI: the managed service (the default), Bring Your Own Key (BYOK), or a self-hosted local model. With BYOK, you connect your own enterprise account with a provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Amazon Bedrock. For most customers, Bedrock is the easiest way to get started with private models, because inference runs in your own AWS account and in the region you choose. For models you host yourself, Informer supports Ollama. If you have a specific model in mind, contact your account manager. We may be able to add support for it.
3. Can you please elaborate on the option to “bring your own AI key” from a local hosted source?
   1. With BYOK turned on, you add an AI provider in Settings by entering its URL and an API key. Your requests then go to that provider, and your agreement with that provider covers how your data is handled. AI usage under your own key draws no Informer credits, but it still appears in the usage dashboard.
4. Is there a way for us to know how many credits are being used per request while creating a magic report?
   1. Yes. You can see credit usage in the Usage section, both for the whole system and for each App.
5. Can I set up multiple apps to update a single database, or does each app need to have its own database?
   1. Apps can connect to each other and share a database. They can also call third-party APIs to write information to outside systems.
6. Will there any expansion to the types of visuals available, either through dashboards or the new magic reports?
   1. Magic Reports are built as web pages, so they can use any web-based charting or visualization library. Nobody has to wait for a new chart type to be added. If you need a dashboard, the Informer App Builder has a Dashboard template. You describe the dashboard you want, name the Datasets it should use, and the builder creates it. Building a full App requires the Admin role, Strategic AI access, and an Apps license.
7. Are marketplace apps downloaded to the local machine, or to the Informer server?
   1. Nothing gets installed on the user’s machine. Apps run in a sandbox, on the Informer server and in the browser.
